Formed in 2001, Team VAMAI is rapidly becoming a force in Virginia TaeKwonDo. Team members range in age from 5 and up at all belt levels. Unlike other TaeKwonDo teams that only have teen age and young adult black belt members, Team VAMAI takes a grass root approach and nurtures its members at all stages of their martial arts journey, from White Belts to Black Belts at any age.

For the past several years Team VAMAI has maintained a rigorous training schedule. This training provides invaluable experience for each team member. Team members not only learn the technical skills necessary for demonstrations and competition, they also develop the dedication and commitment that this level of training requires. The personal growth and camaraderie that is gained through this experience are lifelong benefits.

Our team members are model students; many of them have gone on to become assistant instructors and black belt candidates. They work hard to raise funds to send fellow team members to Junior and Senior Nationals each year, creating opportunities for those who may otherwise be unable to travel to these tournaments.

Team VAMAI has represented our school nationwide. The team has consistently produced multiple medal winners, including local, state, regional, and national champions. Our institution maintains its outstanding reputation for offering team training in all aspects of TaeKwonDo.  We have specific training days and special training curriculum for Team VAMAI.
